Who Is Melbournite?

Hi and Welcome to my (ummm possibly sixth attempt at a) Blog!

I moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2009 after residing in London for over a decade. By then, the UK felt like home & down-under felt very foreign. But after a whirlwind of apartment & job hunting, getting settled in and completing a year long of intensive money saving, my second year is shaping up pretty great if I do say so myself.

One of the better bits is that the money saving has eased off and I can finally get to indulge in some good old fashioned materialistic shopping. Yep, that's right, spending my hard earnt cash on completely unnecessary (but pretty!) items.

And mostly on those of the beauty product persuasion. Yeah, I'm a sucker for the marketing. There's nothing like spying a new product in store, then racing home to google it for reviews etc. In fact I take my hat off to all the consistent beauty bloggers world wide, I'm a big fan & reader of many & thank you all in multiples for keeping me up to date with what new goodies are being released. Oh how I wish Australia had more of the brands available as overseas, and the cheaper prices to match !

And that is pretty much what curtails my spending to date. The fact that 'stuff' in general is on the overly expensive side, I currently have limited space in my wee apartment and there's only so many products I can use in a timely fashion! Yes - beauty products go off - trust me - especially when your living confines resemble an oven in the summer time & there's only so much space for products in your fridge ;)

So, in celebration of my spending ban finally being lifted, I thought I'd come online, join the community and share my finds - beauty or otherwise - with you all.
